Job satisfaction constitutes a vital dimension in the management of human resources within the public sector, particularly in the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of Indramayu Regency. This study examines the influence of work-life balance and burnout on employee job satisfaction using a quantitative approach through a survey administered to 75 out of 301 employees. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that work-life balance exerts a significant positive effect (regression coefficient = 0.195; p < 0.001) and burnout exerts a significant effect (regression coefficient = 0.186; p < 0.001) on job satisfaction. Both variables simultaneously account for 27.3% of the variance in job satisfaction, with work-life balance emerging as the more dominant predictor. Notably, the findings reveal that burnout does not invariably produce negative outcomes; rather, it may function as a positive challenge stressor when employees are adequately supported by organizational resources.
