Abstract

Effective information security policy compliance is nevertheless hampered by human-related concerns, especially in Islamic banking, which handles extremely sensitive financial and personal data. Non-compliance by employees still poses a danger. This study uses compliance attitude as a mediating variable to investigate how user involvement and a supportive organisational culture affect security policy compliance culture. All 91 workers of the Bank BJB Syariah Cirebon Branch were given structured questionnaires as part of a quantitative approach. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling was used to analyse the data. The findings show that user involvement and supportive organisational culture both directly and indirectly have a positive and significant impact on the culture of security policy compliance. The relevance of workers' psychological internalisation in fostering long-lasting compliance behaviour is highlighted by compliance attitude, which also exhibits a strong mediating effect. This study adds to the body of knowledge on information security by including behavioural, organisational, participative viewpoints into a thorough compliance framework. To promote good compliance attitudes and information security governance, Islamic financial organisations should, practically speaking, go beyond just technical legal procedures by fostering a supportive culture and enhancing staff participation.
